Say it
Hold the mic and say your excuse, or type it, or tap a preset. “I’ll start tomorrow.” “It won’t be good enough.” Anything petty.

YeahBut is a free mindset game that turns the “yeah, but…” voice in your head into a tiny, whiny cartoon bug, so you can laugh at the excuse instead of obeying it, then do one small thing anyway.
Hold the mic and say your excuse, or type it, or tap a preset. “I’ll start tomorrow.” “It won’t be good enough.” Anything petty.
The yeah-but repeats your excuse in a ridiculous voice, throws a tantrum, and gets very dramatic about it. You are laughing at the creature, never at you.
Pick one of three two-minute moves. Drink a glass of water. Stretch. Send one text. Then squash it and watch it shrink to a tiny bug in a tiny hat.
Hearing a thought in a silly voice makes it easier to see it as just a thought, not an order. That is the idea behind cognitive defusion, and one small action beats an hour of overthinking, which is the idea behind behavioural activation.
YeahBut is a game inspired by that research, not therapy, and it says so in the app. Read the science and its limits.
“I didn’t fix my whole life. I just made the voice squeaky and then I went for a walk.”
An example of what the game is going for. Not a customer review.
Every excuse has a personality. Two are in the first release, and more are hatching.
A drama queen in a pill-bug body. He owns “I’m going to bomb this” and cries ink when you do the move anyway.
A lazy aristocrat whose letters sag over an invisible chaise. He owns “just five more minutes” and melts when you stand up.
Speech becomes text on your phone. Recordings are deleted after playback.
A check on your phone stops the game and shows helplines if a thought looks like a crisis.

YeahBut is a free 30-second mindset game for adults. You say or type the “yeah, but…” excuse in your head, a cartoon yeah-but creature squeaks it back at you, you do one two-minute move, and the creature shrinks to a tiny size.
No. YeahBut is a comedy mindset and habit game, not therapy, counselling, or a medical service. It borrows ideas from cognitive defusion and behavioural activation, but it does not diagnose or treat anything. If you are struggling, please talk to a qualified professional.
No. In voice mode your speech is turned into text on your phone, the text goes through a safety check on your phone, and the recording is deleted straight after playback. Nothing is uploaded, and on phones that cannot do this privately, voice mode is switched off and you type instead.
Nowhere. On the free tier your thoughts never leave your phone. We cannot read them, sell them, or train anything on them.
A safety check runs on your phone before any sound or animation. If a thought looks like a crisis, such as self-harm or abuse, the game stops, nothing is saved, and the app shows helplines for your country instead.
The core game is free. YeahBut Pro is planned at $4.99 a month, $29.99 a year with a 7-day free trial, or $49.99 once for lifetime. In India the planned prices are ₹99, ₹499 and ₹999. You always see the exact price in your own currency in Google Play before you buy.
